- Bouillon Racine€€ · BouillonA 1906 Art Nouveau dining hall — carved wood, bevelled mirrors, listed as a monument — serving honest bouillon fare at prices that haven't chased the décor. The travers de porc de Picardie is the dependable order.
- Little Breizh€ · CrêperieA small Saint-Germain room where the buckwheat is organic and the galettes are folded with intent. The goat's-cheese-and-honey galette and a dessert crêpe of honey with buckwheat ice cream are the reasons to book.
- L'Avant Comptoir de la Mer€€ · Standing seafood wine barCamdeborde's standing seafood annexe: a zinc bar, a corridor, and fifty photo-posters strung overhead in lieu of a menu. The warm whelks with wasabi mayo and the razor clams marinière justify the elbowing.

- Musée national Eugène-Delacroix€ · Artist house-museumDelacroix took this apartment and built the garden studio behind it in 1857 to be near the Saint-Sulpice murals he was finishing, and died here in 1863. The real draw is the green courtyard and the purpose-built atelier off it.
- Musée Zadkine€ · Free sculptor's studio-museumOssip Zadkine carved in this low cottage off rue d'Assas from 1928 to 1967, and his Cubist figures now stand among the plane trees of its small garden as if they grew there. One of only a handful of intact artists' studios left in the city.
